Grounded in baby led weaning principles, LGN Baby Weaning Workshops equip parents with the tools to know when their baby is ready for solids, common behaviours mistaken for readiness, concerning food allergens, important nutrients, and how to guide baby to be in control of her feeding so she can decide for herself what to eat, how much and at what pace.

Your Questions, Answered
-
The ideal time to take our weaning class is when your baby is between 4 and 5 months old. This gives you plenty of time to digest the information and get organised before starting to introduce solid foods at around 6 months.
-
Traditional weaning starts with smooth purees fed from a spoon, while baby-led weaning skips purees entirely, allowing your baby to feed themselves soft finger foods from the start. Our Dorset workshops teach you how to safely combine both approaches or choose the one that best fits your family.

Yes, safety is our top priority. The workshop covers how to distinguish normal gagging from choking, how to safely prepare finger foods to reduce risks, and the latest scientific guidelines for safely introducing high-risk food allergens like peanuts, dairy, and eggs.
“Florence has been tasting different vegetables for the past week now and it’s going really well. Whilst I know we have a long way to go, I am feeling really confident and excited to get stuck in and for her to try different foods. The thought of weaning scared me and I was actually dreading it, but after the course I felt ready and raring to go. I did the course a few weeks before actually starting weaning, but for me it gave me some time to digest what I had learnt and get organised and ready so that Florence wasn’t affected by my apprehension or how I was feeling about weaning!”

“I feel proud preparing healthy meals for my daughter every day, based on the healthy eating principles you advised me on.”
